CeMAP training course: all you need to know
If you are already working in a financial institute or you are considering entering into the sector as a mortgage advisor then you will need to do some form of CeMAP training course. Here are some quick facts about the training and qualification.
The
CeMAP
There are three components to any CeMAP training course, however you choose to study. It does not really matter in which order you choose to take the exams, some take Unit 1 first, and others choose to study Units 2 & 3 first. You need to take them all and pass to get the qualification. You may wish to undertake the second and third parts (these use the same materials) and then double back to the first or begin at the first, it’s up to you.
A Home Study or Full Time Course
There are two options for CeMAP training courses, you could choose to study at home with distance learning or alternatively you could attend a full time course. Once you have completed the course and taken the exam, you will be fully accredited and be able to enter into your new career as a mortgage advisor.
When you attend a full time CeMAP training course, there is uaully one week for Unit 1 and another week for Units 2 & 3, meaning you may be able to become qualified in just over a month. However, if you wish to take your time and spread out the study, there is nothing to stop you; it will just take a little longer to get your qualification.
If you wish to attend a full time CeMAP training course, there are typically courses up and down the UK and Scotland. The law in Scotland is slightly different so if you intend to work in Scotland, find a course tailored to Scottish law.
