Mental health charity ball announced for UK mortgage industry

April 22, 2025 by Heidi

The two men who put together the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) have organised a charity ball for later in the year that will be open to everyone working within the industry.

Jason Berry and William Lloyd-Hayward are the men behind the idea, and both are leading figures in the mortgage sector. Berry works for Crystal Specialist Finance as its group sales director, while Lloyd-Hayward is employed by the Brightstar Group as chief operating officer. Together, the pair of them devised the MIMHC and have now followed that up with plans for a charity fundraising ball.

The venue that has been chosen for it is the Grand Connaught Rooms, which is in London. The event’s official sponsor is set to be Market Financial Solutions, and a number of major lenders are promising attendance. Over 14 of them have already put their names down.

Tickets for the event are selling fast too, with more than 120 already gone. In total, there will be room for over 300 guests at the ball. MIMHC has confirmed that there will be no alcohol served.

Speaking to Financial Reporter, Lloyd-Hayward stated that the charity ball supporting Alzheimer’s that took place three years ago was their inspiration. He then added:

“Working alongside Jason, we are delighted to bring this event to fruition and have been overwhelmed with the support we have already received.”

It will take place on 10th October, which is also World Mental Health Day, and is an event that anyone with the CeMAP mortgage advisor qualification may feel they can get behind.
