More people battle it out on the property market

January 21, 2016 by Brendan O'Neill

As the New Year gets under way, more people are battling for the same properties, according to the National Association of Estate Agents.

Estate agents are experiencing 20% more clients wanting to register with them, so that they have a good chance of seeing a property before others. The report produced by the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) states that the current housing problems are being fuelled by the lack of affordable housing and an increase in buyers.

Property hunters have increased by 20%, with the average number registered on the books of an estate agent increasing to 403 in November last year. The previous month, the figure was 336. However, estate agents found that the number of properties they were handling dropped from 43 to 41 during October and November 2015.

According to the managing director of the NAEA, https://www.beaconfinancialtraining.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/cemap-online-and-classroom-training-uk.jpg Hayward, first time buyers will be struggling to buy a house due to increased challenges like large deposits and rising house prices. Hayward went on to say that traditionally, the property market is slow at the start of a year, with more people buying than selling.

Hayward also believes the challenges which face the housing market need to be addressed as soon as possible to avoid disaster. Experts believe that the launching of a help to buy scheme isn’t enough to prevent problems arising.

Mortgage advisers will find that they are extremely busy at this time of year, perhaps some still studying as part of their CeMAP training.
