New business development manager for Hodge Bank

December 12, 2021 by Brendan O'Neill

Hodge Bank has announced the hiring of a new business development manager (BDM) handling Scotland and the North of England, with Hema Patel taking up this role.

Patel will replace Donna Spence in the job, with Spence having moved to Fleet Mortgages to work as its BDM for the North West. Prior to joining Hodge Bank, Patel was employed in a number of senior positions at Key Group during the past seven years. One of these was as BDM, ensuring she will bring considerable experience to her latest role.

The new BDM has also worked at several other top firms in the sector, including Key Retirement Solutions, Robert Half International and EY.

Patel’s role at Hodge Bank will see her charged with helping its mortgage advisors in both Scotland and the North of England as they deal with applications from borrowers. She is also expected to offer market instruction and advice about how to further their careers within it.

Speaking to Mortgage Solutions, Hodge Bank BDM Emma Graham said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Hema to the team. She brings with her not only a wealth of experience, but also an enthusiasm and determination to support brokers in the specialist mortgage space.”

Graham then added that the current period for Hodge Bank was very exciting and that the new appointment would help ensure that its goals for next year were achieved.

Given that advisors with CeMAP training need to look to specialist loans more and more, support of this kind will likely be welcome.
