Paragon Bank has announced that it is set to boost the level of support it offers to mortgage advisors, with the appointment of a new mobile underwriter.
The man that the lender has chosen to take up that role is Michael Maynard and his recruitment should make its buy-to-let underwriting function more efficient. He will be going to see specially chosen mortgage broker firms so that he can underwrite existing applications and help with the management of new clients. The appointment is set to have a couple of major benefits for advisors who work with Paragon Bank.
The first is that it will give them direct contact with the individual who makes the decisions. The second is that Maynard will act as a bridge between advisors and the rest of the underwriting team at Paragon.
He will be able to deal with problems that they encounter and support them in the process of applying for mortgages. Thus, the news will be welcomed by most advisors.
Maynard has worked in the mortgage sector for over 10 years. His previous role was at Fleet Mortgages, where he has spent the past eight years. Among the positions he held there were hybrid and senior telephone BDM ones.
Speaking to Financial Reporter, Maynard said:
“It’s great to start the next stage of my career with Paragon at a time when we’re doing so much to enhance our systems and processes to make significant improvements to the way we work.”
Advisors who have done the CeMAP course need this kind of top class support at mortgage lenders.
