Online estate agents are the popular option

Online estate agents are the preferred option for almost 13 million people in the UK, according to a recent study by LetBritain.

The virtual letting agency commissioned an independent survey of 2,000 adults in the UK, finding that 51% of respondents preferred shopping online. Rather than visiting physical premises, 45% of people would rather go online for services and goods, while 29% would avoid a business which doesn’t have an online presence.

The most technologically demanding people reside in London, where 62% demand online services and more than half avoid those which don’t offer an online solution. As digital solutions improve, more people, around 30 million adults, believe that app based or online solutions will replace offline communication in the next decade. Three quarters of the population in London are of this opinion.

Around one third of respondents found that visiting a high street letting agent to rent out a home is an outdated practice. More lenders in the UK are introducing online services, which aim to reduce the time taken for the application process. According to the CEO of LetBritain, Fareed Nabir, the research provides a clear indication that consumers expect transactions to take place online rather than having to visit physical premises. He added that there were too many high street estate agents relying on offline processes, which were cumbersome and time consuming.
