House Prices
An online estate agent has published details of properties around the UK which can be bought for the same amount of money most couples spend on a wedding.
According to recent data, the average price of a wedding is now £20,500. HouseSimple.com, an online estate agent, has found a selection of properties, 24 in total, which are available for the same price. Among the properties are one bedroomed flats in Preston as well as two-bedroom houses in Peterlee and Walton.
The properties are available in areas of the UK which have relatively low levels of income, an availability of a certain type of property and low demand, which often result in low property prices. Some of the properties require very little work and are just in an area which doesn’t have buyers with sufficient funds to buy them. Others may require considerable work, but could be considered to be an investment opportunity.
The CEO of HouseSimple.com, Alex Gosling, admits that the properties don’t look much, but as the average house price is now around £200,000, they do make a good investment and can be the key to getting on the property ladder.
Gosling adds that even if you require a more expensive property, the £20,000 spent on a wedding could be a deposit on a dream home. To secure a first home with a reasonable deposit, obtain advice from a mortgage adviser who is trained to CeMAP standard, to ensure you get a mortgage which is the most suitable for your requirements.
