Advisor new build helpdesk introduced by Skipton BS

May 12, 2022 by Brendan O'Neill

Skipton Building Society (BS) has announced that it will be bringing in a brand-new helpdesk staffed with a team equipped to assist advisors with queries related to new build mortgage applications.

The lender decided to launch this facility after data showed that many advisors are relatively unfamiliar with the mortgage market for new build properties. The members of staff who take up roles on the desk will be focusing solely on these types of mortgage applications and will be able to take questions from advisors when needed to ensure the process runs smoothly and efficiently.

Following the announcement, the National Accounts and New Build Lead at Skipton BS, Rachael Hunnisett, stated that the company was doing everything possible to back this part of the market, and that the desk would make handling new build applications simpler for advisors.

Its Business Development Head, Paul Fenn, told Financial Reporter that:

“As part of Skipton’s growth plans and aspirations to become a top 10 lender, expanding our broker support to include a dedicated new build helpdesk is a fantastic addition to our lending proposition.”

The opening hours for this desk will be from 9 am to 5 pm between Monday and Friday, and any questions that cannot be answered will be put through to the Skipton BS new build underwriting team.

Even after full CeMAP training has been completed, mortgage advisors still sometimes need help and support with particular aspects of the job, and it makes providing top client service easier when lenders recognise that.
