Digital mortgage portal launched by Vernon BS

May 4, 2026 by Brendan O'Neill

Vernon Building Society has announced the introduction of a new digital mortgage portal, which can be used for every stage of the application process.

Mortgage advisors will be able to use this portal for everything from enquiring about a product to submitting a final application. It will cover all points of the mortgage journey, including the decision in principle, underwriting, mortgage offer and completion and product switches. In addition to providing this sort of comprehensive one-stop-shop solution, the portal can be run with the current main digital infrastructure of Vernon BS. This means no additional software or systems will be needed.

It is set to be an invaluable tool for advisors when applying for Vernon BS products. Once they have signed up to the portal, they can monitor the progress of applications in real time. They will also benefit from decision-making that is clearer and quicker, so they can explain things to their clients.

All of that means it will be beneficial to borrowers too though. Anything that can speed up the process of submitting applications and getting a decision is better for them.

The Vernon BS CEO is Darren Ditchburn. He told Financial Reporter:

“This is an important step forward for the Vernon. Our partnership with FintechOS gives us a modern, flexible mortgage platform that will significantly improve the experience for our members, brokers and colleagues.”

He added that it would help the building society with future expansion plans.

Mortgage advisors with CeMAP training will be glad to see lenders make use of technology to improve their processes.
