New AI platform launched by Nottingham BS

September 22, 2025 by Brendan O'Neill

Nottingham Building Society has announced the launch of an AI-enhanced platform for mortgage advisors, which aims to cut the waiting time for decisions on pending applications.

This platform has been given the name ‘inviting difference in’ and is something that the lender worked on in collaboration with MQube, a financial services tech firm. Nottingham BS is stating that it will provide advisors with decisions in a matter of minutes. The current average waiting time for them is between 10 and 14 days, so it will make a big difference if the claims turn out to be accurate.

The platform makes use of artificial intelligence (AI) and this enables it to process more than 20,000 data points in just seconds. The resultant information is used to supply decisions on residential mortgage applications.

Nottingham BS has been at pains to point out that this is not all it can do though. The platform basically automates the whole job of underwriting. It is capable of determining affordability and validating application documents, and will only ask advisors to supply further information when absolutely necessary.

The building society started the development of it during 2024, with tests beginning towards the end of last year. These continued in the opening half of this year. Nottingham BS has said that close to 500 advisors have already signed up.

Sue Hayes, its chief executive, said that working alongside MQube was proving to be fruitful for the company.

This sounds like it will be very useful for those with the CeMAP mortgage advisor qualification, with many likely to sign up.
