The Just Mortgages network has announced the appointment of a new man to lead its self-employed mortgages and protection division, with Ben Allkins set to take up this role.
This is a brand-new position within the network that is part of an upgrade of its self-employed division systems that Just Mortgages is undertaking at a cost of £1 million. The move to enhance the support offered to advisors working in this division are in recognition of how much it has grown during the five years since its launch. Having started with only three self-employed advisors, it now has nearly 400.
Allkins will have the task of making sure this costly upgrade to the systems and support goes through smoothly and that it delivers the help that advisors working with Just Mortgages on a self-employed basis need. He will be a key point of contact for them and is charged with maximising efficiency within the division.
It is a job that he will bring more than 20 years’ worth of mortgage industry experience to, including five years at Just Mortgages, where he was a regional director and an area director.
Speaking to Financial Reporter, Allkins stated that:
“While the self-employed team at Just Mortgages already receives industry-leading support, we will look at all the pinch points where we can improve and make changes to make our brokers lives easier.”
Many advisors join networks like this after they finish their CeMAP training courses, so it is important that they have the best support available to them.
