How to pass exams in Manchester

August 12, 2016 by Brendan O'Neill

The city of Manchester has one of the largest student populations, due to having four universities in the region, and a number of colleges and other training establishments. Although teaching techniques have altered over the years, the one thing that has remained constant is the nerves experienced before taking an exam.

There are a number of steps you can take to improve your chances of passing exams, whether they are part of a degree, or a professional qualification taken to improve career prospects like a CeMAP course. Believe that you can pass the exam, so that you remain in a positive frame of mind throughout.

Write comprehensive notes so that you can revise using those in the days leading up to the exam. Use bullet points if it’s easier, so you can easily digest the information. Writing something down makes it more likely to be absorbed, so you will remember important facts.

Write bits of relevant information on card and leave them around the house so that you are constantly being reminded of facts. Repetition is the key to learning in many cases. If you are having trouble recalling information, write it on sticky notes, cards, and anywhere that may make it easier to keep spotting the information. Coloured card or pens may help to recall information during an exam.

Although it is a stressful time, do not worry too much. If you fail an exam initially, there is always the possibility of taking it again at a later date.
