The secret to selling your home fast

June 30, 2017 by Brendan

According to Phil Spencer, a presenter for Location, Location, Location, one of the ways to sell your home much faster is to de-clutter.

When putting your home on the market, it can be difficult to know what to do to attract buyers. However, the property guru insists that de-cluttering is key to selling your home quickly. During an interview with Express.co.uk, Spencer stated that one of the reasons why people sell their home is that they need more space. De-cluttering prior to putting your home on the market will increase the chances of it selling quickly, and will also make it far easier when you come to moving day.

Spencer adds that there are other things you should remember when aiming to sell your home quickly. One of them is curb appeal. Potential buyers will be influenced by curb appeal immediately, before they have even seen the interior. Clear the garden and other outdoor areas of rubbish, including any weeds. Cut back overgrown shrubs, trees and other garden plants. Window frames and the front door may also require attention. A well-kept and tidy area on approach to your home will indicate that it has been cared for.

Make sure that the estate agent takes photos of your home looking at its very best, so that potential buyers are tempted to have a look around the inside. One suggestion he made was to ask a brutally honest friend to walk around your home and tell you truthfully whether it is cluttered.

Although a CeMAP qualified mortgage advisor can find you a suitable mortgage deal, they are unable to help you de-clutter your home.
