How to choose the best CeMAP course for you

June 23, 2025 by Mark

If you want to train to be a mortgage advisor, then the course to choose is the CeMAP one. This is recognised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which is the regulator for the financial services sector.

There is more than one way to gain the CeMAP qualification though. Which course will be best for you will depend on your circumstances. There are certain points to consider that will help you to decide, such as how much time you have for studying? What is your favoured learning style? What type of course structure best suits you, and how much you can afford to pay?

The three main options are: classroom courses, online courses and webinar courses. Let us take a look at each.

Classroom courses

The classroom courses that we offer take place in a specialist training centre in Warrington. They consist of two separate courses, both of which run four days. The first of these covers the CeMAP 1 module, while the second covers CeMAP 2 and CeMAP 3. This is the fastest way to study for CeMAP, so it will suit those who have limited time.

Classroom courses will also appeal to you if you need a traditional learning environment to really focus. They have a rigid study structure, starting at 9am each morning and ending at 5pm, and they allow for immediate and direct interaction with a tutor. If that fits with your preferred learning style, choose the classroom courses.

Online courses

The second available option is online study. We offer two ways of completing the CeMAP course online, with the first being to study for CeMAP 1 separately from CeMAP 2 and 3. The second way is to study for all three modules together.

Taking the courses over the internet will appeal to you if you prefer a solitary learning style. It also comes with a more relaxed structure, allowing you to complete each module in your own time. This makes it ideal for people who need to fit CeMAP training around other life commitments.

Studying can be done flexibly – during free times – from the comfort of your own home. Each video tutorial can be viewed as often as needed, to help you absorb all of the information.

Then there is the matter of cost. With our monthly instalment option, you’ll still enjoy the same great value without needing to cover the full amount upfront. Alternatively, you can apply for the free online trial course, which provides a sample module at no cost.

Webinar courses

The last type of course available is the webinar one. This again consists of two four-day courses covering the three CeMAP modules. It takes place over Zoom between 9am and 5pm, making it a mix of the classroom and online study methods. You can save on travel costs, but retain the more rigid structure and study times of classroom teaching.

Like the online course, this comes with exam support in the shape of mocks and sample questions.

This should give you some idea of which course will be right for you, but you can look at some of our testimonials for further guidance.
