Sesame Bankhall looking to recruit more advisors

June 18, 2025 by Brendan O'Neill

Sesame Bankhall Group (SBG) is looking to expand its mortgage network by bringing in more advisors, and it has hired a new team that will focus on that goal.

The company has appointed Chris Astle to the position of national recruitment manager. That means he will be the man in charge of meeting its advisor recruitment targets. This is the second time that he has been employed at SBG, and he has worked within the financial services sector for over two decades. Prior to rejoining SBG, he worked for Primis Mortgage Network as its head of recruitment.

In addition to that appointment, SBG has also brought in Gina Hurn, who will work in the position of recruitment support consultant. She will be responsible for assisting Astle as he seeks to bring more advisors on board, and will help to support the growth of the network. Like Astle, she was previously employed by Primis; there, she had the role of broker relationships manager.

Astle and Hurn are expected to work together on recruiting more advisors to the SBG network, but also on offering greater support to advisors throughout the UK.

SBG director Toni Smith told Financial Reporter that the company was happy with its new appointees. He then went on to say that:

“We want Sesame to be the network of choice for advisors looking to start, run, grow and ultimately exit their businesses – and Chris will play a key role in making that vision a reality.”

This will certainly make the SBG network more attractive to those with CeMAP training.
