Why study CeMAP courses at home

January 17, 2017 by Brendan O'Neill

CeMAP training can be completed either in a classroom environment or as a home study course. Preference depends on each individual, as some people are happier in a classroom, where they can share ideas and information, and ask questions immediately. Others prefer the flexibility of a home study option. Here we examine the home study option in more detail.

There are many reasons why an individual may opt for studying at home. Some classroom based courses may be overcrowded, although a reputable provider of CeMAP courses won’t have more than around 10 people at any one time. Studying with other people may mean that you don’t receive the attention which you require, resulting in you falling behind with learning.

Travelling to a learning centre can be relatively expensive, adding onto the cost of the course. The cost of fuel, parking fees and public transport are all quite expensive. During winter, you may also encounter problems travelling to the course location, due to bad weather.

If you have mobility problems, travelling to a learning centre can add problems, whereas studying at home removes the stress of having to travel, especially if you live a long distance from the nearest educational facility.

Home study courses usually include all the relevant material you will need to complete the CeMAP training course. Any extra materials which are used in the classroom, will be mailed either through the postal system or electronically, so that you have access to all relevant information.

You can choose whether to study using electronic materials or to opt for the training materials used on CeMAP courses to be sent through the mail. Some people may want to use a combination of the two methods. CeMAP courses which are sent to you electronically have the advantage of being stored in one place; your computer. However, you may prefer having the paper based course so that you can vary your study material.

Time is precious for most people, so home study may make it easier for you to fit in the training, especially if you have other demands on your time. This is particularly the case where an individual is working full time, perhaps in the finance industry, but wants to improve future career prospects with CeMAP courses.

Most training providers will provide options for class-based study and home study. A reputable provider will also ensure that the home study option includes the same materials as the training course which is held in a classroom. Consider carefully the method which will be most suitable for you.
