Mortgage Lab has set up a new AI learning and implementation group that mortgage advisors can join for free.
This community is called Mortgagelab.ai and the purpose of it is to teach advisors how to apply AI without breaching regulatory and compliance processes. The training available will come in the form of videos and guides to practical AI implementation, as well as a podcast and briefing each Friday.
Mortgage Lab has secured support for it from several organisations, with the headline partners being JammJar and Curvestone AI. The other companies that are collaborating with Mortgage Lab on the project are Instamo, Roma Finance and Keychain. They will all contribute content to the community in the form of webinars, podcasts, videos and blogs.
The brains behind Mortgage Lab are Paul Brett and Liz Syms, who set it up earlier this year. Brett also works for BTS Consult & Coach as a director, while Syms is the Connect for Intermediaries chief executive. Since that initial launch, they have brought Mike Potts and Rebecca Whitney from Advisory 9 on board to provide guidance on technical matters.
Speaking to Mortgage Strategy, Syms said:
“Advisors aren’t asking whether to use AI anymore. They’re asking how to use it without putting a client file or a Consumer Duty outcome at risk, and without losing time they don’t have.”
She then went on by saying that this is what Mortgage Lab is intended to help them navigate.
This could be a useful supplement to CeMAP mortgage advisor training, as AI appears to be here to stay.
