CeMAP
If you want to become a mortgage adviser in the UK, you need a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP).
There are several ways to study for this qualification, and that is what we will consider in this article. Whether you are advancing your own career or training your team, here are some options for preparing for a CeMAP exam:
Official textbooks for at-home study
When you register for each CeMAP module with the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF), you receive official study materials covering the full syllabus. These provide a solid foundation for self-study. You should note that studying independently with textbooks requires discipline and that you may need to persevere with difficult topics without an expert to explain them.
Timed mock exams
Mock exams are one of the best ways to check your progress. Taking practice tests under timed conditions helps you become accustomed to the multiple-choice format. You will also learn to manage your time better and identify the topics you need to revisit before the actual exam.
Fast-track in-person workshops
If you learn best alongside others, intensive classroom workshops may be suitable. They cover the syllabus over a few days with an experienced trainer. CeMAP classes are ideal for people who want to study quickly and benefit from face-to-face teaching.
Online courses
Online courses offer the greatest flexibility. With our online courses, you can benefit from 24/7 access to our training portal for 12 months, with no fixed start dates. Each course includes video tutorials, tests, sample questions and mock exams. You will also have telephone and email support from our lead trainer throughout.
Live webinars
Live webinars combine the structure of a classroom with the convenience of studying from home or the office. Live CeMAP webinar courses can be delivered via Zoom, with trainers working through the material line by line. Many courses offer recordings so that you can listen to the webinars again after they have finished.
