Searching for a home in Leeds can be challenging, especially if you are not familiar with the city. It is a large place with a selection of properties, from one bedroomed flats to large mansions.

Deciding what type of home you are looking for is a good way to narrow down your search. Leeds is possibly better known for its traditional red brick semi detached homes built during the 1930s. A house like this typically has three bedrooms, and a front and rear garden with a driveway. However, the price will vary considerably, depending on their condition and whether they have had any improvements or not.

If you are looking for a home in an affluent area of Leeds, you may want to consider Chapel Allerton or Roundhay, where you will find Victorian terraced homes, detached properties constructed of Yorkshire stone and villas. As these suburbs are only around three miles from the city centre, they are easy to reach by public transport or car.

If a village atmosphere is more to your liking, consider Horsforth or Calverley for its traditional Yorkshire stone cottages, or even a modern new build detached property. Before you view a property that seems to your liking, consider how much you will need to borrow and whether you will be able to secure a mortgage.
