Chahal joins L&G Mortgage Club

Gurpreet Chahal has joined the staff of Legal & General Mortgage Club in the role of key relationship manager.

L&G Mortgage Club is among the biggest of its kind in the UK. It offers mortgage advisors the chance to access products from more than 90 high street and specialist lenders, including exclusive loans. Now Chahal is set to be one of the most important contacts for advisors who are members of the club, and he will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with them.

His other key responsibility will be to find ways in which L&G can grow its mortgage lending book. He certainly has plenty of industry experience to bring to the job, having worked within the mortgage world for over 10 years. His previous jobs were at Accord Mortgages and Yorkshire Building Society.

Jane Simpson is employed by L&G as its strategic accounts chief. She was quoted by Financial Reporter saying:

“Gurpreet’s appointment reflects our commitment to strengthening partnerships across the intermediary market and driving growth in our broker relationships.”

Simpson added that his experience makes him ideal for the task of improving both advisor and customer experiences.

Chahal himself stated that he was very pleased to be taking on his new role. He went on to say that he had learned how important partnerships are to producing good outcomes for both mortgage advisors and the borrowers they represent.

The CeMAP qualification is one of the most popular ways of breaking into the mortgage sector in this country. It enables people to pursue a career as an advisor.
