Surveys and Statistics
New figures released by Twenty7tec show that the number of searches for mortgage products rose during last month.
Those figures are contained with its Mortgage Market Snapshot. They reveal an increased number of searches on both annual and monthly metrics. Furthermore, the rise in search numbers applies to almost all of the main kinds of loans on the market. Overall, it means June is the only month in 2026 so far to have seen record annual and monthly growth in mortgage searches.
The total number of product searches for the month was 1,774,749. When compared to June of last year, it is a rise of 2%. By comparison to May of this year, there is growth of 7%.
In terms of the different product categories, there was an 11% month-on-month rise in residential search numbers. They reached 1,499,462 during June. This was 3% more than the total for June 2025. Searches for residential purchase loans rose by 8% month-on-month and 5% year-on-year.
It was a similar story for first-time buyer searches, with annual and monthly rises of 5% and 9% respectively. Remortgage search numbers rose too, by 1% annually and 14% monthly. For buy-to-let loans, there was a rise of 9% compared with May.
Nakita Moss is the head of lender at Twenty7tec. Speaking to Mortgage Finance Gazette, she said:
“June’s figures point to a market that continues to adapt as borrowers respond to changing economic conditions and ongoing lender competition.”
These kinds of figures make it an ideal time to take the CeMAP mortgage advisor qualification.
