Mortgage Advisors
Legal & General has announced it will be making its platform for sourcing mortgage products available to all advisors.
This platform is called Ignite and it was previously accessible only to mortgage advisors who are members of Legal & General Mortgage Club, or via specific CRM integrations. The decision by the lender to open it up to the entire market will be welcomed by advisors. It means creating an account and using Ignite will be easier, while a lot of useful information will be available through it.
Ignite allows advisors to source products, find out about lender criteria, calculate affordability and gain insights into properties – all in one place. They can use it to locate products and lenders that fit the varying needs of clients, so it is an invaluable resource.
Mortgage advisors who have directly authorised status will find the move by Legal & General to be particularly beneficial. It will be much simpler for them to make Ignite central to their processes for researching and finding products.
Kelly Bretherton works for Legal & General as the head of Ignite. She told Financial Reporter:
“We’re committed to making it simpler for brokers to access the mortgage tools they need to support their clients’ goals. That is why we’re delighted to open the Ignite platform to a much wider audience of brokers.”
She added that this would help them do their jobs to the best of their abilities.
This is great news for all advisors who have done CeMAP courses and is something they will welcome.
