The brokerage Mortgage 1st has confirmed it is introducing a new division dedicated to specialist mortgage loans entitled Specialist 1st.
The division will be acting as a new appointed representative for the company Connect For Intermediaries. This means that all of the advisors who work for Mortgage 1st who join the new brand will have full access to Connect For Intermediaries company’s panel of mortgage lenders. Mortgage 1st intends for this division of its operations to concentrate on providing on bridging and development financing, second charge loans, credit issues and complex loans, among other things.
The brokerage has stated that some of its existing team of advisors will be given dual authorisation. That means they will be able to operate under both the Specialist 1st and Mortgage 1st brands. It will also be bringing in an advisor with experience of the specialist market to oversee them.
Mortgage 1st’s managing director, Jon Stones, informed Financial Reporter that this move had been in the works for a long period and that this felt like the right time to launch it. He then added:
“As a company we are determined to keep moving forward, enhancing our service and overall offering to Mortgage 1st customers whilst providing our advisors the opportunity to enhance their own skillsets.”
Paul Lewis, the head of partnerships of Mortgage 1st, will be in charge of the brand.
This news will add more positivity for Mortgage 1st advisors with CeMAP training, as the specialist lending market continues to grow.
