Most advisors optimistic about market for next year

Surveys and Statistics
The vast majority of mortgage advisors in the UK feel optimistic about the prospects for the market over the coming year, according to the latest research to be published.
This survey found that roughly 81% of them feel this way, which marks a big increase on the figure for the same period in 2024. Around 71% of them said they felt optimistic about the future prospects for the mortgage market, while the other 10% described their feelings as being very optimistic. The survey was conducted by the mortgage network Stonebridge and 265 advisors took part in it.
When the results are compared with those for last year, it is clear that there has been a big improvement in advisor outlook. Back in 2024, just 54% of them said that they felt optimistic about the future for the market. The year before that, the figure was 14%.
Another key indicator of rising advisor confidence is the percentage that is expecting to write more business during the upcoming year. Three quarters told the survey that they anticipate that being the case, whereas last year it was 62%.
Among the reasons that Stonebridge is citing for the more optimistic outlook are base and mortgage rate reductions. Its chief executive, Rob Clifford, told Mortgage Solutions that:
“As conditions continue to improve, we believe this growing optimism will translate into increased activity and further momentum across the mortgage and protection market.”
This should ensure that the number of people choosing to study with a CeMAP training company remains very high.
