New growth director hired by Quilter

April 6, 2026 by Brendan O'Neill

Quilter Financial Planning has announced the hiring of a new growth director, as part of its plans for developing its mortgage and protection networks.

The company has hired Gordon Henderson to fill that role, and he will have two main responsibilities. The first is to expand the number of high-grade mortgage advice firms that Quilter has within its network. The second is to assist those firms that are already part of it to grow their clients and profit margins. Quilter distribution director Zara Bray will be overseeing him in this role.

However, Henderson is not without experience in the mortgage sector. He has been working in financial services for over three decades – most recently at the Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB). He was employed at that organisation first as a regional sales director and then as director of recruitment.

During his long career, Henderson has helped to put together and support teams of mortgage advisors. He has also assisted advice companies to expand through a combination of business transformation and targeted recruitment. These skills make him an ideal fit for his new role at Quilter.

Bray spoke to Mortgage Solutions after his appointment was announced. She said the company was happy he had agreed to join, before adding:

“With his considerable experience in advisor recruitment, he brings a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing firms seeking growth in today’s competitive environment.”

It sounds as if this company is one that will be offering exciting possibilities for those who have passed their CeMAP mortgage advisor qualification.
