Just Mortgages has recruited a sales manager who is set to work with advisors within the company’s self-employed division in both the North East of England and Scotland.
Grant MacKay will have his base in Lanarkshire and will be collaborating with a total of 25 advisors within that division at the moment. The mortgage brokerage is expecting to increase the size of its self-employed division over the next few years though, so that number will go up as it does. He will be bringing almost a decade and a half worth of industry experience to his new job.
MacKay first entered the industry back in 2010, when he worked at HSBC. He started out in its telephony division, assisting with customer service issues. Later on he transferred to the mortgage department, working as assistant manager before being promoted to team manager.
He has also spent time as a mortgage advisor, having qualified in 2014. That will be invaluable in enabling him to help the self-employed advisors at Just Mortgages to build their brands and master new skills.
MacKay was employed as an advisor by Carrington Mortgage Services.
Following his appointment, he told Mortgage Introducer that:
“Just Mortgages has always been on my radar with its strong brand and presence in the market. When I saw this opportunity come up, it really ticked all the boxes for me.”
Many advisors prefer the freedom of working on a self-employed basis after getting their CeMAP mortgage advisor qualification, but there are plenty of roles available and high quality support is essential to their success.
