Mortgage Advisors
Close to two-thirds of people who are buying a home state that they would not be able to manage the process without a mortgage advisor, according to a new survey.
Santander has just published its latest Broker Perception Barometer and the lender spoke to 500 people with a mortgage to see how they feel about advisors. In response, roughly 65% said that the process of buying a home would have been impossible without the help of an advisor. Meanwhile, 85% of those who took part in the survey stated that they would get help from an advisor again if they decided to move.
This quarterly survey also asked the buyers what they considered to be the most crucial service offered by advisors. 29% of them cited the ability to save borrowers money by finding the most suitable mortgage product and lender.
Another 26% of the respondents said the most important thing mortgage advisors can do is save buyers time. 19% stated the aspect of advice they valued the most was guidance concerning rate changes and the tax system.
One of the most interesting findings is the fact that one out of every 10 buyers said their advisor had provided emotional support. While 82% indicated using an advisor had reduced their stress, 70% said that it had cut their overall costs. The average monthly mortgage payment for those who had used a mortgage advisor when buying was £125.
This survey shows why the demand for CeMAP training courses is continuing to grow.
