The Mortgage Lender hires distribution head

December 26, 2021 by Brendan O'Neill

The Mortgage Lender (TML) has announced that Sara Palmer is set to join its staff from early next year, taking up the role of Head of Distribution.

Palmer has spent the last 13 years working for Santander, where she was in charge of its distributors and primary mortgage networks. She was also responsible for forging relationships central to the company’s strategic plans and for managing those relationships.

During part of her time at Santander, Palmer worked alongside the platform Mortgage Engine on the task of deploying application programming interface (API) tech to help major mortgage lenders find intermediaries and distributors.

Speaking to Mortgage Strategy after her appointment was confirmed, Palmer stated that:

“Joining TML at this stage of its growth journey, and at such an important time for specialist lending, is an opportunity I simply could not turn down. The brand’s culture, people and leadership are also huge draws.”

Palmer then went on to say that she was excited at the prospect of helping TML with its plans for expansion and at the prospect of working with its roster of mortgage advisors. She concluded by stating that she had really enjoyed the years that she had spent working for Santander, before wishing the bank every success for the future.

Sales Director for TML, Steve Griffiths, said that securing someone of Palmer’s talent and experience showed how far the company had come.

It is important for advisors who have done a CeMAP course to have strong support when they join a network.
