The CeMAP Mortgage Advisor Qualification was created specifically to offer mortgage brokers the certification they need to practice in the UK.

CeMAP is an industry standard qualification devised by the London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF) accepted by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as proof of competency to provide mortgage advice.

The course includes three modules and students can choose to study in classes or online from home. Each module has exams to complete before students receive their certificate, which must be booked directly with LIBF. Many CeMAP candidates wonder “can you take the CeMAP exam at home” and how this process works?

Understanding CeMAP exams

To assess what you have learned, each module of the CeMAP study course features an electronic examination. The first two module exams are each two hours in length and feature multiple-choice-style exams. Module one has two units each with 50 questions, while module two has four units and 100 questions in total. The third module is also two hours long and features 60 multiple choice questions based on six case studies.

Candidates are given 12 months to complete a module and sit their exam; they can register for any number of modules at the same time. CeMAP modules can be completed in any order, but most students take them numerically. The cost of an exam is included in the registration fee for each CeMAP module.

Where can you take CeMAP exams?

There are two options for taking CeMAP exams. You can either attend a dedicated test centre in person to complete your exams or opt to take examinations at home with the support of remote invigilation. Test centres are located nationwide, so regardless of which option best suits your needs, you’ll be able to easily sit your exams.
