Check.co.uk has rolled out a brand new mortgage solution designed to help people find out how ready they are to borrow.
This solution has been given the name Mortgage Score by Check and people can access it through that company’s app. It combines information about a user’s credit score, existing debts, affordability and deposit targets. This information is then used to produce a Mortgage Readiness rating for each user. Mortgage Score by Check also offers customised insights into any issues that might be negatively affecting that readiness.
The solution is not intended to replace mortgage advisors, but rather to complement the work that they do. By using it, a customer can get a better grasp of their current financial status before talking to an advisor. Check states that this will make them more prepared and will save time for both them and advisors.
Check.co.uk is a digital service that offers help with financial wellbeing. It has FCA approval, so customers can be sure that this new solution is legitimate.
Mortgage Score by Check is available to use now.
Matt Meecham is a Check.co.uk director. He spoke to Financial Reporter, saying that the aim was to give people a clearer understanding of their mortgage status.
He then added:
“For brokers, that has the potential to mean better-informed conversations with prospective clients, with consumers arriving with a greater understanding of their financial position before accessing expert mortgage advice when they’re ready to move forward.”
A more informed customer is a good thing for any mortgage advisor who has the CeMAP qualification.
