Halifax Intermediaries has announced the introduction of a new Loyalty Club mortgage range that is targeted at Club Lloyds members.
This range was launched in late October and is available for people who are moving home and those buying for the first time. The main eligibility requirement for borrowers is being part of Club Lloyds. This is a fee-paying current account and there are several variants of it. They include the basic Club Lloyds, Club Lloyds Platinum and Club Lloyds Silver.
However, if a person without one of those accounts wishes to apply for a Loyalty Club mortgage, they can set one up or switch their existing Lloyds bank account to one, prior to making an application. While there are some lending criteria that must be met to qualify, these do not include a minimum income threshold.
At the moment, the range only includes purchase mortgages, but this does incorporate both Affordable Housing and New Build Extended options. Halifax has not stated whether it will expand the range in the future to feature product transfer and remortgage loans.
Leigh Church is the Halifax Intermediaries acting head. He told Mortgage Introducer:
“Brokers play a significant role in helping customers navigate the mortgage market and find a mortgage that meets their circumstances. We want to give them more choice when they are helping customers buying a home.”
He went on to add that this new range showed how committed the lender is to supporting mortgage advisors.
The launch of this range will be welcomed by advisors who have completed CeMAP training courses.
