How should you prepare for an online CeMAP exam?

June 18, 2020 by Alan

With much financial training now being conducted online, you might think that sitting the exam to pass your CeMAP mortgage advisor course from home will be more comfortable and less daunting than attending an examination room. That can be true, but it is still an exam and you must avoid being too casual about it.

If you are taking your CeMAP levels 1, 2 and 3 via an online training provider, you will need to schedule a time to sit the exams. Make sure that you have all of the information and materials you need for them and if there is anything that you have not received, you should contact the training provider well ahead of the exam to discuss it, rather than waiting until the day before the exam.

Another important factor in your exam success will be the equipment you are using. The last thing you want is to reach the day of the exam only to find your computer, headset or Wi-Fi is not working the way that it should. Check these far enough ahead of time to enable any problems to be resolved if need be.

Finally, make sure that the room you have chosen is conducive to concentration. CeMAP training courses and exams are demanding and being distracted by online notifications or household noise will not help you to pass. However, as long as you look to closely replicate the conditions you would find in an examination room at a training centre, you will be fine.
