Nine more mortgage lenders join SmartrFit

January 18, 2023 by Brendan O'Neill

The SmartrFit tool created by Legal & General has been given a revamp that sees a further nine mortgage lenders adding affordability calculators to it, covering both buy-to-let and residential loans.

In the former category, products from Nottingham Building Society, Buckingham Building Society, Hinckley & Rugby Building Society, Suffolk Building Society and Stafford Railway Building Society are now featured on SmartrFit. When it comes to residential loans, there are new products from Principality Building Society, Harpenden Building Society, The Mortgage Lender and Marsden Building Society on the tool.

In addition to adding these new products to SmartrFit, Legal & General has also carried out an extensive upgrade. All of the various spin-off solutions that it has developed during the period since SmartrFit was launched – such as SmartrCriteria – have now been integrated into the main tool.

This solution is available to mortgage advisors at no cost, but they need to have an agency number for Legal & General. This includes advisors who have joined its Mortgage Club, as well as ones accessing it through the likes of Smartr365 and One Mortgage System.

Speaking to Financial Reporter, Jodie White from Legal & General said:

“We are delighted to mark the third anniversary of the launch of our tech offering with a significant package of new features, setting up our fantastic community of users for an even better new year.”

Technology is becoming an ever greater part of the working lives of advisors following their CeMAP mortgage advisor training, and it is important to keep it up to date.
