Saffron Building Society introduces mortgage finder tool

May 28, 2020 by Brendan O'Neill

Saffron Building Society has announced the launch of a new service called Saffron Mortgage Finders (SMF) that will offer custom mortgage product and protection advice.

It is essentially a brokerage, with Openwork set to provide it with the necessary regulatory approval, support for its systems and mortgage panel, and SMF being run as its appointed representative. Products from more than 50 of the top mortgage lenders in the UK will be available via the service, which will see advisors speak to customers by telephone during the week and on Saturdays.

For those who are not comfortable getting advice in that way, there will be the option of meeting with an advisor at the nearest branch of the building society or at the place where the customer works where possible. Speaking to Mortgage Finance Gazette, the director of the new service, Colin Field, stated that Saffron Building Society had always been focused on the needs of its customers.

He went on to add that the new brokerage service would enable them to maintain that standard of customer care into the future, before concluding by saying:

“The Saffron Mortgage Finders Service will allow us to reach even more consumers, helping them to find a house to call theirs and the protection to ensure they can remain in it too.”

It is likely that many mortgage advisors who have secured their CeMAP qualification and are searching for innovative career opportunities will be looking at this new brokerage as a smart way of building their client lists and reputations.
